Sachin Tendulkar on Friday has opted out of the Irani Trophy to be played from September 24 in Baroda. He ruled himself out of the Rest of India squad after Indian team’s physio advised him more rest for his injured elbow. However, he will be available for India’s first Test against Australia that starts on October 10.

The Master Blaster hurt his elbow in the third Test against Sri Lanka in July this year, and had to pull out of the One-Day series that followed. He was declared fi
