The appeal by Indian opener Gautam Gambhir against a one-Test ban for elbowing Australian allrounder Shane Watson will be heard by noted human rights campaigner and South African constitutional court justice Albie Sachs.

The ICC named Sachs to re-examine Gambhir's case after India lodged their appeal against the penalty imposed by match referee Chris Broad for the incident on day one of the third Test between Australia and India in Delhi.
